Only the essential consent record is active until you choose otherwise.

  • Analytics denied by default
  • Preferences denied by default
  • Marketing unavailable
01

The short version

Doberman starts with optional analytics, preferences and marketing storage denied. You can use the Site without accepting optional storage. Choosing “Essential only” has no effect on access to publications or tools.

Marketing storage is not available. Google Analytics 4 is prepared but loads only in Production when a valid measurement ID exists and you explicitly allow Analytics.

02

Consent categories

  • Essential. Always active. Remembers the privacy decision and supports delivery, abuse prevention and security.
  • Analytics. Optional. When enabled, allows privacy-bounded aggregate events such as page views, publication views, filters and CTA outcomes.
  • Preferences. Optional. Allows the browser to remember the selected light or dark theme.
  • Marketing. Disabled. Doberman does not use advertising or remarketing trackers.
03

Storage currently defined

doberman_consent is a first-party cookie that stores the consent-policy version, four category booleans and the time the choice was updated. It contains no email address, name or other direct identifier. It expires after 180 days, when you clear it, or when a policy-version change requires a new choice.

doberman-theme is browser local storage used only after Preferences consent. It stores “light” or “dark” and remains until you withdraw Preferences consent or clear browser data.

If GA4 is later activated and Analytics is allowed, Google may set first-party identifiers including _ga and a property-specific _ga_* cookie. Their provider-defined duration can be up to two years. Doberman removes known GA cookies when Analytics consent is withdrawn and sends a denied consent update.

04

Analytics boundary

No Google analytics script is requested before Analytics consent. Preview and Development environments do not initialise GA4. The implementation does not send email addresses, raw search terms or paths containing query strings to analytics.

Google Consent Mode v2 signals for analytics storage, ad storage, ad user data and ad personalisation begin denied. Consent can grant analytics storage only; all advertising signals remain denied.

05

Change or withdraw your choice

Use “Manage cookies” in the footer at any time. Saving a new choice replaces the previous one. Rejecting optional categories does not affect essential storage.

You can also clear site data in your browser. On the next visit, Doberman will ask for a choice again. For privacy questions, email dobermanvc@gmail.com.
