Current website setup

Optional analytics and preferences start denied. GA4 remains technically disabled unless Production has a valid measurement ID and the visitor explicitly accepts Analytics.

  • No advertising cookies
  • No sale of personal data
  • No raw queries or email addresses in analytics events
01

Who this policy covers

This Privacy Policy applies to dobermanvc.com and the related pages, publications and tools operated under the Doberman VC name (the “Site”). For the purposes of this Policy, Doberman VC is the controller of personal data processed through the Site.

Doberman VC is an independent publishing and market-intelligence project. Questions about this Policy or the use of your data can be sent to dobermanvc@gmail.com.

02

Data we process

We process only the information reasonably needed to operate the Site, respond to people and protect the service:

  • Information you send. Your email address, name if supplied, message and any other information you choose to include when you contact us or request an intelligence product.
  • Subscription context. When email collection is enabled, we process the selected product or alert, source page, topic, CTA identifier, consent version, timestamp and available campaign attribution so we can deliver and understand the communication you requested.
  • Technical and security information. Hosting and infrastructure providers may record an IP address, browser and device details, timestamps, requested URLs, referrer information and error or security events.
  • Search and navigation information. A search term can appear in the requested URL and therefore in ordinary server logs. Doberman’s current analytics event contract does not include the raw search term or your email address.
  • Consent and local preferences. A first-party consent cookie stores the policy version, category choices and update time without direct identifiers. The light or dark theme is stored locally only if you allow Preferences.

We do not ask for payment-card details, government identifiers, account passwords or sensitive personal data through the Site.

03

How and why we use data

We use personal data to answer enquiries, process newsletter requests, maintain and secure the Site, diagnose faults, prevent abuse, understand aggregate product interactions and meet legal obligations.

Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on your consent for optional communications, steps requested by you before providing a service, our legitimate interests in operating and protecting the Site, and compliance with legal obligations. You may withdraw consent for future processing at any time.

We do not use Site data for automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects.

04

Newsletter and contact requests

Subscription forms submit your email address, the intelligence product you selected and limited acquisition context to a server-side Doberman endpoint. Development uses a non-persistent mock adapter. Preview and Production collection remains unavailable unless an authorised email-provider environment is explicitly configured.

When live delivery is enabled, Doberman uses Resend as its email delivery and subscriber-management provider. A request starts a confirmation flow, and the address is added to the applicable Segment or explicitly opted in to the selected Topic only after confirmation. We use it for the Weekly Brief, topic tracking, intelligence alert or DIS access you selected, and do not silently enrol a professional enquiry into marketing email.

You can withdraw consent or change available Topic preferences through the unsubscribe mechanism in a delivered email, or by emailing dobermanvc@gmail.com with “Unsubscribe” in the subject. A minimal suppression record may be retained so the address is not added again accidentally.

05

Cookies, local storage and analytics

The Site uses a first-party cookie to remember your consent choice for up to 180 days. Optional Analytics, Preferences and Marketing begin denied. Theme local storage is used only after Preferences consent. Marketing and advertising storage remain disabled.

Doberman’s provider-neutral analytics interface excludes email addresses, raw search terms and URLs containing query strings. Google Analytics 4 can initialise only in Production, with a valid configuration and after explicit Analytics consent. No Google analytics script is requested before that choice; Preview and Development analytics remain disabled.

Google Consent Mode v2 advertising signals remain denied even when Analytics is accepted. You can review the defined storage and change your choice through the Cookie Policy or “Manage cookies” in the footer.

06

When data may be shared

We do not sell or rent personal data. Data may be disclosed only to service providers that help deliver hosting, infrastructure, security or email; when required by law or a valid legal process; to protect users, Doberman or the public; or as part of a genuine reorganisation or transfer of the Site.

Providers process data under their own terms and, where applicable, contractual safeguards. Third-party websites linked from Doberman operate independently and their privacy practices apply when you visit them.

07

International processing

Internet infrastructure and email providers may process information in more than one country. Where applicable law restricts international transfers, we use an available lawful transfer mechanism and appropriate safeguards, or rely on another permitted basis.

08

How long data is kept

We keep data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected:

  • confirmed subscription details until you unsubscribe, the address repeatedly fails or the selected intelligence product is discontinued;
  • unconfirmed requests only for the limited period required to complete or expire the confirmation process;
  • ordinary correspondence for the time needed to resolve the request and, normally, no longer than 24 months after the last meaningful exchange;
  • technical and security logs for the shortest period needed for operations, investigation and legal compliance, subject to the infrastructure provider’s configured retention;
  • the consent choice for up to 180 days and the theme preference until you withdraw Preferences consent or clear browser storage.

We may keep a limited record longer where reasonably required to establish, exercise or defend legal claims, prevent repeated abuse or comply with law.

09

Security

We use reasonable organisational and technical measures proportionate to the nature of the Site and the data processed. No website, email provider or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure, so please do not send confidential credentials, seed phrases, private keys or sensitive financial information.

10

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal data; restrict or object to processing; withdraw consent; and complain to a competent data-protection authority.

To make a request, email dobermanvc@gmail.com with “Privacy request” in the subject. Describe the request and the email address involved. We may need to verify that the request concerns you. We will respond within the period required by applicable law.

11

Children

The Site is intended for a general adult audience and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us so we can investigate and delete it where appropriate.

12

Changes and contact

We may update this Policy when the Site, its providers or legal requirements change. The effective date and version at the top identify the current text. Material changes will be presented prominently where reasonably possible.
